KCAA Jamaica Mission Trip
KCAA sponsored Kendyll Dhans to join Jamaica Mission Trip
Kendyll Dhans with baby on Jamaica Mission Trip.
Dhans was provided this opportunity through a full sponsorship from the Kansas City Alumni Association (KCAA). Alumni were already involved with this service trip and the KCAA decided to sponsor a student as a special way to participate.

Dhans traveled to Jamaica with several health service professionals Feb. 8-17, 2014.  The group performed 800 dental surgeries, donated $1,000 ($100,000 equivalent in Jamaica funds) to their community organizer in Jamaica for basic toiletry items, and they were able to gift a hand peddle cart to a local individual that had suffered the loss of their legs due to illness.  Dr. Robert Magee '59 says these types of gifts and seeing the difference that it makes in individuals lives makes the trip well worth the investment.  Dr. Robert Magee '59 helps to coordinate the entire trip, which was in affiliation with the North Kansas City Rotary Club and the Northminster Presbyterian Church of Kansas City.

Dhans was also accompanied by Culver-Stockton trustee, Dr. Clark Todd of Canton, Mo. This was Todd's third time to Jamaica. "Trips like these are important because they remind you that something that we might view as insignificant can make a big difference in another individual's quality of life," said Todd.

This is a truly honorable goal, for many reasons. Not only did alumni go to Jamaica to work themselves, they exemplified the Rotary Club's mission, "Service Above Self," by providing an extra volunteer for the effort and giving a student the opportunity of a lifetime.  Watch for more information and highlights from Kendyll's trip coming soon.

Recreation and Wellness Center Campaign in Final Stretch

Accept the Double-Challenge!
We need your help! The cost of a new recreation center at C-SC is $3.5 million.
If the College can raise an additional $249,000 by April 9, 2014, the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation of Tulsa, Okla., will donate the remaining $700,000 to complete the project. Donate now!

GREAT NEWS: A Trustee has issued a new challenge, now matching the next $100,000 in gifts, to help meet the J.E. and L.E. Mabee Foundation's project completion challenge. That means your gift will now be double-matched, first by the Mabee Foundation and then through the generosity of a Trustee. Accept the challenge!
