Jewish Educators
|
Host Maxwell Rotbart and CAJE's Sue Parker Gerson
|
This week we will speak with two of Colorado's premier Jewish educational directors. The first is Sue Parker Gerson, director of education at the Colorado Agency for Jewish Education. In that role, Sue oversees all the educational initiatives of the Florence Melton School of Adult Jewish Learning (previously known as the Florence Melton Adult Mini-School) and Hebrew High.
The second is Mordechai Hoffman - a former IT business analyst (educated at Leeds Business School in the UK) turned local Jewish day school executive director. Mordechai talked to us about how Hillel Academy of Denver is working with new educational and business models to ensure that its students are prepared to face the challenges of the 21st century.
|
Dr. Mehler
|
Mordechai explains that Hillel Academy prepares its students to enter leadership positions - alumni range from Dr. Phil Mehler, chief medical officer at Denver Health to Rabbi Ahron Wasserman of The Jewish Experience. In fact, the architect working on the school's planned expansion - which is also discussed - is himself a Hillel Academy graduate!

Last Week on Radio Chavura
ACT! for America Founder Brigitte Gabriel
As a young girl growing up in Lebanon, Brigitte Gabriel saw first hand what life was like living under the brutality of radical Islam. Now living in the United States, Gabriel travels the globe lecturing about the dangers facing us in the western world if we don't confront the worldwide Jihadist movement.
Following a recent visit to Denver, Radio Chavura had an opportunity to speak with Gabriel - who is also the founder of ACT! for America - about what is at stake in the upcoming November election.
Hear the full interview with Brigitte Gabriel now!

SOUNDING THE ALARM!
Brigitte is not the only expert with profound concerns about the threats the world faces from radical Muslims.
Security expert and Jerusalem Post contributor Caroline Glick contends that Israel faces its greatest threat ever from Iran, Egypt and the increasingly powerful Muslim Brotherhood movement throughout the Middle East. She is a sharp critic of the Obama Administration, which she contends is deliberately undermining Israel's security and its ability to respond effectively to the existential threats it faces.
Whether you agree with Ms. Glick or stand in opposition to her views, this is must-listening for American Jews who wish to be informed.
Hear what Caroline has to say now.
