Special Education Awesomeness
Welcome New SpEd Teachers!

On August 10th, 49 new SFUSD Special Education teachers participated in a SpEd New Teacher PD Day. Topics ranged fro
inclusive practices, behavior support systems, writing IEPs for educational benefit, IEP prep, and getting to know the ELA and Math curriculum. The PD provided an opportunity to welcome our new teachers, provide initial support and introduce them to a network of support. It is clear our new teachers are a talented and excited group! We look forward to supporting you throughout the year!
Salesforce Foundation Support

As part of the Salesforce 3 year grant with SFUSD Special Education Services will be implementing 2 initiatives. The Goalbook software initiative will be expanded to 50 Middle School teachers this year. Goalbook provides teachers with access to Common Core aligned goals and instructional strategies and many other valuable tools. We are also launching the iLearn Pilot. iLearn is geared to provide students with access to technology paired with powerful software to achieve success. More information in the October newsletter. We are very excited about these opportunities for students receiving Special Education Services.
