"Needs not Labels, Services not Places, Names not Numbers"

The end of the 14/15 school year is fast approaching. Teachers are raving about Unique software, sites are scheduling for 2015/16 and the first ATIC Open House was a huge success!
Special Education Awesomeness
Unique Software Excitement

Sadie Guthrie, Special Education Teacher at Lawton Alternative K-8:  The Unique curriculum has given me the tools to lead differentiated lessons...my students love the hands on experiments and activities and find the interactive worksheets and reading engaging! I am looking forward to comparing this month's pre and post tests for evidence of progress our students are making. Mary Gomez, teacher at Lincoln High School: Unique curriculum has been such an amazing contribution to my classroom....access to grade level, Common Core aligned, age appropriate materials is huge. My students are super motivated by the topics and they align with the IEP goals we are working on. Rebecca Fall, teacher at Visitation Valley Middle: A new thematic unit is available each month covering all subject areas...the digital library is quite extensive and "News-2-You" offers current event lessons as well. It is clear the Unique Pilot has been a huge success!

Independent Studies Academy offers a LRE scheduling training

Educators at ISA recently participated in an all staff training on how to individually analyze LRE for students. After the training staff completed a document that is used for this analysis (Form 2). Sarah Reynolds Cianciolo shared that this collaborative process, between all adults who support a student, results in educational benefit in the LRE.
ATIC Open House

On April 23 the ATIC (Assistive Technology Innovation Center) held an Open House. The AT Team shared information, resources, and gave visitors the opportunity to create and practice using low and high tech interventions.
