Special Education Awesomeness
Goalbook Toolkit
Teachers are loving it!

Gretchen Dryden, Special Education Teacher at Jefferson Elementary School: "I LOVE Goalbook! Each standard has 4 levels of support...Goalbook gives you examples on how to support the student, my goals are now clearer, and it is clear how to measure each goal. The goals are designed around the CCSS... Goalbook gives you ideas of how to implement goals as well!" Andrew Schroeder teacher at Wallenberg HS explains "Goalbook has made creating and tracking IEP goals straightforward and simple. Not only are all the goals tied to Common Core Standards, navigation is easy because they are organized by subject, grade level, and/or area of need. All of the goals are written in quantifiable ways, making progress updates and goal completion super easy to track. Each goal offers varied levels of support and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) strategies, allowing me to target and specify student needs." Clearly, both students and teachers are gaining from Goalbook!

Black History Month
Celebration Highlight

On February 25, 2015, students at Log Cabin Ranch High School celebrated Black History Month by performing an African American Heritage program. Log Cabin students have been participating in this annual celebration for roughly 15 years. According to Principal Chris Lanier, the event has been noted as the "highlight of the year" by educators and students. Speeches range from The Underground Railroad to "I Have a Dream" and "I Rise".  The event ended with the traditional raucous version of "Lean on Me," inspiring the audience to get up and dance, celebrating yet another great program and year!
