SATS: Special education Assistive Technology Supports
SATS is SFUSD's new comprehensive approach to providing AT (Assistive Technology) and AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) services and supports to students. SATS was introduced in August to ensure students with Assistive Technology needs (AT/AAC) receive the appropriate supports and services to access their education. SATS was developed after reviewing data from the Tech Needs Survey sent to teachers last Spring and an understanding of best practice. The collaborative team of developers included Marilyn Buzolich, Bay Area expert in the field of AAC and Chris Toomey, expert in AT. To learn more about SATS go to the SFUSDSpEd.org website or click here.
