Greetings!

 
Thanks so much, Laurel Wilson for keeping our eyes on the visionary. Last week's live simulcast of Melinda Gates' TEDx event on positive disruption was certainly that! Maybe if enough of us ask for it, Laurel would be willing to curate a monthly TED talks + discussion night (we'll watch for the groundswell).
 
Speaking of disruption, the wall is up. Two layers of drywall on each side, with insulation in between to dampen noise transmission. It's already mudded and taped. The plastic curtain should be down by next Monday. A members meeting tomorrow (Thursday, 4pm) will help to expand our vision for outfitting the new room as a recording and streaming studio. How might you use the new classroom/studio with a private deck?

Bhama Roget will MC "Ignite Bainbridge 2" on May 14 

Bhama RogetAlthough from Seattle, Bhama Roget is beloved by Bainbridge audiences from many years of first Saturday performances by the improv group, The Edge. Recently, she has also MC'd the Story Slam, a collection of mini-story-telling performances held at the Treehouse. And from April 19 through May 19, Bhama appears in Seattle Rep's 1960's comedy "Boeing Boeing." 

 

We are excited to welcome Bhama to our second annual Ignite Bainbridge, a fun, high-energy evening of 5-minute talks and socializing. The Ignite motto, "Enlighten us, but make it quick," captures the spirit of the event. Speakers have 5 minutes, 20 slides, and exactly 15 seconds per slide to entertain and inform you. A few slots for speakers are still available.
