April is ready to go with exciting new Tuesday@noon workshops, but first we'll finish out March with a bang: you won't want to miss the party on Thursday evening as we host the Chamber of Commerce "After Hours." We happily anticipate the return of Crystie from Finnriver Cidery, and we're eager to share our discovery of Slippery Pig Brewery. Both are family-owned enterprises with interesting tasting venues on remote farms. These are destinations that will make you feel connected to our local artisinal economy, and a little bit hip for even knowing they exist.

Yes, me 18 months ago, before weekly happy hours. Can I do it again?
I was in the typical checkout line and saw the familiar headline about some star who just lost 17 pounds. It wouldn't have caught my attention except for that number. That's how much I've slipped since starting this business, with too many happy hours and too many networking events. The good news is that I'm still down 25 pounds from three years ago when I went on a program and dropped 3 sizes. So starting on April 1, no more alcohol for me until I reach my goal, and I'm going to use those happy hours on Thursdays to report in on how I'm doing. Care to join me? 

Of course it will take more than just "no more alcohol." Ann Whitmore was my coach helping me lose those 40+ pounds, and she has been leading a weight-loss support group at OfficeXpats ever since we opened. She is also offering an informational session this Wednesday evening about the program. If you want to join my challenge, choose your own program, or try the one that I used, and let's conquer happy hour together.
