APEx is North Kitsap's organization exploring alternative currency for building community and strengthening local economy. Starting this month, APEx will begin hosting teach-in's that explore the origins/science/theory of (or alternatives to) modern economic systems, often including a movie and discussion.
This month goes WAY BACK, featuring a video by Alan Honick on research about the evolving "sense of fairness" in hunter/gatherer tribes. It explores archaeological evidence that a Northwest culture had a "corporate" structure, with bosses and workers. It also explores how infants perceive fairness, and comes up with an intriguing hypothesis relating fairness and sustainability. Is intentional fairness achievable in our modern world?
Thursday October 25, 6pm: Join APEx at OfficeXpats for delicious homemade soup, bread, and greens (this month made by our own Food Shed), a 25-minute video, and discussion. Arrive at 6pm for supper (donations accepted) and the program will begin promptly at 6:30.
