Senior Nights

The Class of 2015

November is the month when our senior students are honored for their years of dedication to the Band and Color Guard.

Senior Tent is an ANHS Music Program tradition, a way of honoring the dedication and years of hard work by senior members of the Band, Drum Line and Color Guard. The event features dinner with drinks and desserts. Gifts are presented to all attending seniors with the venue decorated to add to the festive nature of the event.

In past years - back in the days when the Band would travel to Fresno and other distant venues that required an overnight stay - Senior Tent was held at Marching Band Championships. In recent years, our championship events have been held more locally, making it difficult to properly fte our seniors due to the time constraints of finals now being a one-day-only event.

This year, we are holding Senior Tent at ANHS on Friday, November 21, the day before SCSBOA championships in Chino. We believe this will give our kids more time to enjoy themselves, and to not feel rushed by the hectic schedule of SCSBOA Finals.

This yearly event is held for Senior Marching Band, Drum Line and Color Guard students only, with all expenses paid entirely by senior parents. No Booster funds or contributions from underclassman parents are spent to host this event.

Senior Recognition Night: we will be honoring our Band & Color Guard Seniors during halftime at our home football game on Friday, November 7 at Wolverine Stadium. Each band & color guard senior student will appear on-field with their parents, where our intrepid photographers will be stationed to capture the moment, followed by the taking of a senior group shot in the end zone. Parents traditionally present their senior with flowers or other small gifts during this event.

Headline IconUpdate: Competition Season Funding

We have entered the thick of the Fall competition season, a season made possible almost entirely due to the financial contributions of our music program parents. Thanks to your contributions, we have reached 64% of our funding goal.

The total fair-share per-pupil contribution for the 2014 Marching Band Season is $925 (includes competition fees of $350 per student in addition to your "Road to Championships" donation* of $575). If you have not yet made a financial contribution to the program - and a disturbing number of band parents have yet to make any kind of financial contribution - we urge you to do so, today!

Click here to access our online store to view payment options, and to make your much-needed and much-appreciated contribution. You may also pay by check - simply have your student deliver your check to the white drop box in the ANHS Band Room. Make all checks payable to the ANHSIMB, Inc

(*As the ANHSIMB, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, your donations to it are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law. Individual circumstances will vary. Please check with your tax adviser for more information.)

Headline IconThank You!

We'd like to thank our "road crew" parents who have helped so much at our to-date SCSBOA comps in Poway, Anaheim and Irvine this Fall. We can't do it without you!

A very special "thank you" goes out to Edie Robertson with the ANHS Football Boosters. Edie was instrumental in getting our Band and Color Guard featured in this year's fall football program books. Look for a special Senior Recognition section in this Friday's (11/7) football program.

And thank you for being a member of our Instrumental Music Booster organization!

We'd like to hear from you. If you have any suggestions as to how we can better serve you and your student, please drop us a line. We're always looking to improve our organization.

Until next time,

Mark Stenroos
