PRQA Newsletter - Q4 2012

Greetings

Welcome to the final PRQA newsletter of 2012. We wish you Season's Greetings and look forward to working with you in 2013.

Continuous Integration, Continuous Code Inspection & Static Analysis

View our most recent webinar and better understand just how closely Continuous Integration aligns with the approach advocated by Continuous Code Inspection & Static Analysis.  In this session we also show a typical deployment - see how the analysis from PRQA plug-ins can be automatically triggered in a Jenkins environment, and view the resulting output including post build quality metrics and a range of compliance reports.

  • Learn more about our PRQA plug-in.
  • Quickly assess how mature your organization is when it comes to Continuous Delivery.

QA·C 8.1 enforces CERT C

CERT C is a security oriented coding standard targeting "insecure coding practices and undefined behaviors that can lead to exploitable vulnerabilities". Many of the rules and recommendations are based on security flaws discovered in real world code. CERT recognizes that applying coding standards will lead to higher-quality systems that are robust and more resistant to attack.

Visit the CERT C website to see specifically which rules are covered by QA·C.

QA·C++ gets a boost!

Support for projects using the boost libraries has been greatly enhanced with automatic configuration provided as part of the standard personality generation step. QA·C++ 3.0.1 has successfully analyzed the boost regression suites for versions 1.49, 1.50 and 1.51. Analysis of the latest version of boost, version 1.52, is currently under way as part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring that our parsing technology is second to none.

MISRA-C3 - Register your interest for our next webinar

The MISRA-C:2012 Coding Standard is due to be published in the near future. Listen to Paul Burden, a member of the MISRA-C Working group and one of the authors of this important new standard.

  • Why is there a new version of MISRA-C:2012?
  • What has changed since MISRA-C:2004?
  • What additional rules have been introduced?
  • Will my legacy code remain compliant?

Register your interest for our MISRA-C3 webinar.

We've recently setup online update sites for all of our Eclipse plug-ins so that Eclipse can automatically detect new versions when they become available and provide the option to upgrade. This will keep your Eclipse analysis configuration up-to-date.

Customers under maintenance can contact PRQA's Support Team who will provide access to the appropriate Eclipse update site.

Please do not hesitate to email me if you have any feedback or to let me know what you'd like to see in future editions of this newsletter.

Sincerely,

John McConnell

Marketing Director
