IMA Admin Update

This summer has been eventful in the world of New York State Behavioral Healthcare and IMA. Here are some of the more notable items that might interest you.
IMA - Revenue Cycle Management We have created a powerful new tool to give you total control on revenue cycle management. It is called the Outpatient Financial Dashboard and it offers a view into how well your agency is doing in collecting the revenue generated by your billable services. There are agencies that are currently not following up on billing suspense, billing submissions, and denials and are losing 20-40% of potential revenue as a result. This new tool is being used actively at a number of agencies and it has helped them raise recovery rates by 10-30%. If you would like to learn more about it please contact barry to discuss. OMH Re-adjudication Re-adjudication continues and those of you that have followed the instructions in the previous emails and are using the IMA tools created for this are reporting that the process has been very smooth. There are no known open issues on this. Please let us know if there is something you need help with. OMH OPRA Guidance OMH and DOH have released a guidance document that will affect all claims with dates of service starting 10/1/2013. - All licensed service providers need to be enrolled in Medicaid via OPRA.
- All Medicare eligible providers need to be enrolled in Medicare
- All claims for unlicensed practitioners need to contain a valid referring provider.
Items 1 and 2 are up to you. Item 3 can also be configured in the "electronic billing file setup" module in the "Payer" records. Please contact the helpdesk if you need further guidance on this.
OMH Patient Characteristic Survey
The IMA Module for the 2013 version of the Patient Characteristic Survey has been completed. This module allows the data collection for PCS to occur within the IMA application and submission to OMH via a data upload. If you are interested, please inform the helpdesk.
