The last quarter saw a higher recorded amount of split fees within the TEAM network than over recent quarters.

 

Following the growing momentum of our Driving Sector we are delighted to announce the appointment of Julian Thompson, Managing Director of 24-7 Staffing. Julian has a wealth of experience in this sector and works closely with the FTA Driver Agency Accreditation Scheme which recognises, encourages and promotes good practicewhich can only enhance the sector and the TEAM Driving Division.

 

Discussions on the 2016 Conference continue and we hope in the next newsletter to announce the date, venue and an outline of the day.

 

We were able to welcome Julia Kermode, CEO of the Freelancer & Contractor Services Association as a guest to our recent National Executive Meeting. Julia updated TEAM on the work that FCSA are doing with their ongoing commitment to compliance amongst the financial intermediary sector. There will be considerable changes within this area during the coming months which we will keep you updated on.

Chadburn v Doncaster: Costs awarded despite claimant inability to pay (EAT) 
           

Costs do not necessarily "follow the event" in employment tribunals, as they do in civil courts, meaning that it will often be the case that a winning party will still not recover all or even any of their legal costs from the other side.
