Picture Your Life: A Writing Workshop with author Judith Kitchen

Library Learning Center-Large Room
Tuesday, Apr. 23, 1:30-4:30

Do you have photographs-people, places from your past-or pictures in the albums you can't even identify? Want to find the 1000 words that might bring that photograph to life again? Come to a Meet-the-Artist Event where local writer Judith Kitchen will share what happened as she wrote her latest book, Half in Shade, and lead you in an exercise guaranteed to open your family history to the lens of introspection. Sponsored by PT Public Library and WA State Artist Trust. Free and open to the public.

Plus 1000 Words
They say a photograph is worth 1000 words. But the photo does not say everything, and this workshop is designed to set you writing about the people, places, and emotions in your life. Bring a photograph that intrigues you-especially one where you have questions, would like to know more than you do. We will explore ways to "open up" the picture with words. Once you have done this for one photograph, your entire album is available for further exploration. You will find yourself entering unexplored territory and your family will love this legacy.
Senior citizens especially invited. ADA access.
