The Port Townsend Public Library has received a grant from the Washington State Library, with funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, as well as generous support from the Friends of the Port Townsend Library, to continue its free jobs retooling program for older workers. It is now geared specifically to those between the ages of 50 to 69 who anticipate re-entering the employment market, and is known as ENCORE. The library will provide resources that will help you as a midlife adult to access new technologies and reinvent careers, and will collaborate with the local business community to provide information on business startups. You will be able to get computer help in researching employment opportunities in our local and regional job markets and applying for jobs on-line from the friendly and knowledgeable public library staff. Dynamic local speakers will round out the ENCORE events by providing personal insights into what drives their motivation and makes them successful in our contemporary working world.
