Miniature golf courses. Teens and tweens will enjoy the several miniature golf courses available on the Island: Pirate's Island, Adventure Cove and Legendary Golf each offer a unique golfing experience, while keeping the whole gang laughing and smiling along the way. In addition, all of these are reachable via the Island's bike path system, making for a great morning or afternoon of physical and recreational fun.
Children's Museum is great for families to learn, explore, and play together. The museum offers interactive exhibits, and activities that lets your child's imagination run wild.
Island Playground, an indoor playground offers inflatable slides, obstacle courses, imagination stations, and a family picnic area. They also have a separate toddler exploration area with climbers, soft play gymnastics and tunnels.
 Biking.. With miles of both paved and dirt paths covering the Island, there isn't a place visitors can't go with their bikes, including the 12 miles of sandy beaches. Bring your own bakes or rent them by the day or week.

Civil War Era..through end 2016. Join a Coastal Discovery Museum docent and learn how Hilton Head Island was home to thousands of Union soldiers during the Civil War. Find out why they were here and how they spent their time. Historic photographs, maps and artifacts tell the story of Hilton Head from 1861-1865.
 Exploring Pinckney Island...through end 2016. A brief historical and natural history overview is given by a Museum docent, followed by a walking tout of this National Wildlife Refuge, including salt marsh and maritime forest. Wildlife may include variety of birds, alligators and marsh inhabitants. Every Tuesday and Thursday 9 am - 11 am.
Sweetgrass Basket Classes...until February 27. Learn about the history of the Sweetgrass basket, one of the Lowcountry's best known art forms, from a local 7th generation Gullah basket maker at the Coastal Discovery Museum. Then, try your hand at starting a basket of your own using locally found natural materials.
Honey Horn History Walk...through the end of 2016. Travel back in time with the stories of Honey Horn's past 200 years. You'll learn about the planters, the northern hunters who visited in the winter, the islanders who worked on site and the Hack Family who lived at Honey Horn from 1950 until the late 1990s. This walk is led by a Museum docent.
