Halifax Yoga Class Set-up & Etiquette!

  • Please sign in at front desk.  Available 30 mins before class.
  • Your practice starts when you walk in, please respect the entire room
  • Students will not be permitted in to class after it has started .
  • Please DO NOT bring any electronic devices into the studio rooms. Make sure they are also off, NOT on vibrate.
  • Leave all personal items in the lobby, including shoes, jackets, bags, purses, etc...

Additional Policies

Emergency Exit Door

Please DO NOT enter or exit from the door downstairs. For emergencies ONLY. Please use upstairs main entrance. Do not let other students in or out.

Heat Preference

If you want a warmer or cooler spot, please ask the instructor where to go. Students are not permitted to touch any of the heating equipment, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, fans or windows.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel your reservation, you may do so online at least 12 hours before the class begins, or your account will be debited for the class. Late Cancellations: Students on any unlimited package will be automatically charged $10 when absent for a class that has been booked, but not cancelled.

Grooming/Cleanliness

Please keep body and feet clean when attending class. Please do not attend class with open wounds. No perfume. Please clean up after yourself. Laundry bins are located by washroom. Please use recycling bins for all bottles.

Parking

Please use main parking lot, side lot on Purcell's cove, down spinnaker or at the tennis courts off of Herring Cove. Please DO NOT park in bus stop or in any unmarked parking spots.

Please let our instructors know!

Quick Tips;

Acupressure points:
  

Try pressing on the acupressure point Hegu ( LI4) the next time you feel a cold coming on. And get out your oil of oregano!





Try massaging Zu San Li (St 36) to help strengthen your digestive and immune system and calm your mind. Prevention should always be your first line of defence.



Diet:

Start incorporating garlic, onion and pungent flavours into your diet. Cinnamon and honey give your immune system a boost. Also as winter approaches, root vegetables, soups and stews should make up a generous part of your diet.
