Tips for the New Year! Your Yoga/spin Resolution!
Congratulations on your health resolution: the
wise choice to start or start back up a yoga practice or cycling routine in 2015.
Yoga and moving your body in spin, when practiced regularly, and for a while, gives a sense of clarity and connection that tends to naturally draw us toward healthier choices and feeling great!
Here are some basic tips to get on track!
1. Plan for success. You'll see benefits more quickly with three classes a week, but if you can only do one, do one. Start where you are.
2. Sign up Ahead. Plan your classes and schedule them ahead of time. Hold yourself accountable! There has been more success with routine and planning to make it accessible and easy!
3. Play the field. Try out different classes on our schedule. There are many different styles and instructors! Many people try one yoga class, then make their decision. One class isn't enough. If you go to a class that you don't like, try another one. There is a class and a teacher out there that will be perfect for you.
4. Be Kind to Yourself. Fancy poses are impressive and fun to do/watch, but they provide no means for measuring the success of a practice. Be authentic with your practice and physical or not it will eventually show you the way to your soul and you will want to land on your mat more!
5. Get to know your community. Get inspired! Participate in events, workshops and talk to your instructors and the gals at the desk. Motivation often comes from a sense of belonging, feeling safe, support and growth! This is your chance to become a part of something bigger!
