Summer is here! That means entertaining the kids, keeping the kids out of trouble, and figuring out how to afford college...and pulling weeds!
Check out our articles on some affordable summer camps, free events, and college scholarships. Sorry, I have nothing to help you deal with the weeds. I just know that if you ask the kids to pull weeds, you should make sure there are no plants that you want in the same vicinity...pulled flowers, unlike pulled weeds, don't come back up (at least in my personal experience!).

Are You Raising Teenagers? From Catholic Charities Kinship Chronicles
Every Thursday night from 5:30 p.m.- 7:30 p.m., Servicios de la Raza partners with Denver Human Services to offer a free Character Building and Gang Prevention Program for Youth 13-18 at the Care Center in Denver Human Services, 1200 Federal Blvd, Denver, CO 80204.
All youth and caregivers receive free dinner. While the teens are in the program, caregivers have the option of participating in free parenting classes at the same location. Free childcare is also available for younger children.

Sailing Camp for Kids 11-18
Diane McKinney, the founder of Able to Sail, offers camps at Union Reservoir in Longmont. Her available weeks for camp are: June 20th-23rd, June 27th-June 30th ,and July 18th-21st. Diane's camp not only teaches youth to sail, but through her program she also addresses empowerment, self-esteem, and working cooperatively with others. Air & Space Summer Camp for Kids 8-12 From Catholic Charities Kinship Chronicles
The Wings Over The Rockies camps are normally $400 a week, but take advantage of this special opportunity to send your kids for only $50/week for full day. $25/week for half day. Location: 7711 E Academy Blvd, Denver, CO 80230. Two different options: July 11th Registration Students ages 8 - 12 will be immersed in aviation and space activities inside our WWII-era Air Force hangar that is filled with over 40 types of aircraft and space vehicles.
Campers will have the opportunity to meet an accomplished leader of the aerospace industry with our Lunch with a Legend series. By designing space stations, gliders, rockets and robots, campers will learn to troubleshoot some of the challenges tackled by aerospace engineers. Campers can choose to attend a morning and/or afternoon session. The morning sessions focus on aviation and the afternoon sessions have an emphasis on space activities. Science of Flight | 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM * Fly a mission in our simulator lab * Watch exciting air pressure and lift demonstrations with Cool Science * Learn to fly radio-controlled aircraft with an instructor from the Academy of Model Aeronautics
