Greetings!
Bring on Indian Summer! How nice of Mother Nature to allow us one last 'romp' before the chills of November.
If you have a hankering to get outdoors and explore, try to take in one of Nelson's walking trails. Our town is so rich in history and there's so much to see on a trail ... cellar holes, old mill foundations ... all while you listen to the voices of the past. Contact Rick Church and have him recommend one of the trails for you. Or plan a Monday excursion with Al Stoops and Kathy Schillemat and enjoy a few hours of nature-time.
Remember, too, that PumpkinFest is this weekend in downtown Keene! This year, a TV crew from HGTV will be filming the evening's events for a live broadcast. Can Keene break the record for the most lit jack-o-lanterns in one place? It's up to you - and your carved pumpkin.

This year's Halloween Party is co-sponsored by the Nelson Police and Fire Departments.
Particulars: * The Halloween Party is geared to all children in Nelson and Munsonville, ages 0 to 13 years of age, but everyone is invited to share in the fun. * Organized Games * Treats are being prepared and donated by moms, dads, grandparents, neighbors, and friends - and the list is yummy! * Be sure to bring your costume and your camera!
Warning!!! Refusal to attend our 'Spooki-ful' Halloween Party will result in loss of fun for everyone! Don't be a ghoul! Halloween Costume Party October 27th 1:00 to 4:00 pm Mayhem & Munchies @ the Nelson Town Hall Costumes for all attendees are strongly encouraged.

 | Question For You | For a couple of years now, our Newsletter issues have been archived, just in case there is an issue or two that you may have missed, or one that you would have a need to refer to once again. We are asking you of this is indeed a service of our newsletter that you think is of benefit to you. We would appreciate hearing your comments. Please send us an email with your opinion: keep the Archive, or get rid of the Archive?

 | More Halloween Party Information | Thanks to some wonderful volunteers, we have a pretty good start on this year's party. We still need a couple of people to volunteer for the Activity Tables.
As far as the snacks and beverages stand, we could use two or more additional gallons of apple cider.
We are still working out the details of having some sort of outdoor activity, such as trick or treating at the neighboring homes like we did last year. But outdoor activities depend on the weather conditions, too. And who knows if we will once again have a two-foot snowfall! We promise you that we will keep you updated
If you have any questions or suggestions, we look forward to hearing it all! Just call Candyce at 847-3223, or send her an email.

 | Town Buildings Committee Update | At 10 AM on Saturday, November 17th at the Town Hall, the Town Buildings Committee will review the proposals and budgets for repairs and renovations of the town's buildings. The total cost for the three proposed projects is approximately $700,000.
This session will focus on paying for these projects and the impact on taxes.
Come out and learn more about these projects, and make your voice heard.
The assessment work to develop the recommendations was funded in part by a grant from the New Hampshire Preservation Alliance and in part by a vote of the Town in March of 2012.
Currently, the Town Buildings Committee and the Selectmen intend to bring all three projects to Town Meeting as separate warrant articles. Your votes will decide which of these projects go forward.
More information and a link to all drawings and budgets is available at http://www.townofnelson.com/town-buildings.
