Sensory Friendly Recital, February 14 at 2 pm
A Sensory Friendly recital is a performance that caters to people with disabilities. All are invited but a special focus is given to those on the autism spectrum, who may be more sensitive to their environments. Special accommodations center on keeping volume levels low and lighting soft. If audience members need a break from the concert environment, we will be providing a "quiet room" with sensory manipulatives. For optimal vibro-acoustic sensory input, audience members are encouraged to sit around the musicians on the stage or even lie underneath the grand piano. This recital will feature Charlene (violin), Chris (piano), Audrey (piano/flute), Kris (flute), Chelsea (violin), Emily (voice), and Leo (piano). For questions or concerns, please contact RAC music therapist Kim Weiss or click here for more information.
