Sensory Friendly Recital, February 14 at 2 pm
A Sensory Friendly recital is a performance that caters to people with disabilities. All are invited but a special focus is given to those on the autism spectrum, who may be more sensitive to their environments. Special accommodations center on keeping volume levels low and lighting soft. If audience members need a break from the concert environment, we will be providing a "quiet room" with sensory manipulatives. For optimal vibro-acoustic sensory input, audience members are encouraged to sit around the musicians on the stage or even lie underneath the grand piano. This recital will feature Charlene (violin), Chris (piano), Audrey (piano/flute), Kris (flute), Chelsea (violin), Emily (voice), and Leo (piano). For questions or concerns, please contact RAC music therapist Kim Weiss or click here for more information.

February 22-26, Group Lesson Week 3
Please call or email the office if you need to be reminded of the days and times of the classes your child is enrolled in. Keep in mind that student attendance is mandatory and ensures all classes run at full capacity without cancellation. Our featured Specialty class is Guts of the Piano on Thursday, 2/25 from 4:15-5:15pm. Students will get a detailed tour of the inside of a piano, plus learn how the 12,000 various parts work together to produce sound. Click here to view our class options.
Solo/Ensemble Festival Preparations and Accompanists
Students planning to participate in Solo/Ensemble are encouraged to contact RAC for extra lessons and help finding an accompanist. Be sure to talk to your child's teacher if you have questions about choosing an appropriate piece. Please call or email the office for more information.
Madison Mini Maker Faire, Saturday May 14
Madison's first ever Maker Faire will be Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center. This family friendly event showcases the amazing work of all kinds and ages of makers-anyone who is embracing the do-it-yourself (or do-it-together) spirit and wants to share their accomplishments with an appreciative audience. Music performances along with arts and crafts are welcome to enter.  Click here for a full list of entries and how to enter! Registrations are open until March 31st.
Inclement Weather Policies
Remember that school cancellations due to inclement weather do not imply RAC lesson cancellations.  If lessons are cancelled due to weather, the decision will be made by noon and notification will put on our outgoing phone message as well as on our website under Student Events and on Facebook. Lessons or classes missed due to weather-related closure by Rhapsody will be made up.
