Happy New Year!  We hope that your 2016 is off to a great start!  Winter is a great time to get in a lot of practicing.  It is also a good time for listening and expanding your musical horizons.  Explore new music and look for the obscure gems.  When you find them, share them with your teacher!  Welcome back!

Thanks for reading,

Does Your Child Have Cabin Fever?

We have a great list of activities for students to participate in during the upcoming months. Encourage your child to do one (or all!) of the following:

  • Make 3D art using recycled materials. Need ideas or instructions? Search "found object art projects for kids" on Google.
  • Using your own artwork, set up an art gallery at your house and invite your friends and family to see it. Host a reception with treats!
  • Make your own musical instrument. Need ideas or instructions? Search "homemade musical instruments for kids."
  • Find an artist that is still living and check out his/her work. E-mail or mail him/her a letter telling what you like about it. Need artist ideas? Visit:
  • Mail/e-mail a letter to your congress person about why you love the arts
Have You Heard About Our Specialty Classes?

In addition to our core classes, we offer great specialty classes during Group Lesson Week. Check out our offerings here. Inclement Weather Policy
It's that time of year to start thinking about how inclement weather may affect Rhapsody's lessons and classes. School cancellations do not imply lesson cancellations. If lessons are cancelled due to weather, notification will be on our outgoing phone message by noon, and our closure will be listed on our website under the Student Events block. Lessons or classes missed due to weather-related closure by Rhapsody will be made up.
