          November News
Fall is in the air! The cooler temperatures, changing colors, and thoughts of coming holidays are all vying for our attention. With less desire to be outside, now is a great time to really step up practice and listening time. Both make us better musicians! This school year has begun very strong: our students are making great progress, and the first faculty recital was a rousing success! Please take a few minutes to read through our newsletter to see what's happening at Rhapsody this month.

Have a great Thanksgiving!

Evaluations & Progress Reports
Great communication makes a great experience. We value your opinion on the effectiveness of our teachers and the quality of our school. Please fill out this survey online
here or fill out a printed copy of the survey in the lobby during your child's lesson. Completing this evaluation helps assure quality teaching, good communication, and high standards in the studio. Please complete this form by Tuesday, December 1.

Student progress reports will be given to parents at the Holiday Recitals. These reports are an evaluation of the student by the teacher to help determine musical strengths and weaknesses and to plan goals for the rest of the school year. Students will receive progress reports again in the spring.
Holiday Recitals

Mark your calendar! Holiday recitals will be held Thursday through Sunday, December 10-13 at Rhapsody. The Thursday recital is for adult students only; all other recitals are open to everyone. Sign up for your preferred recital day/time beginning Monday, November 2. All students performing in recitals must sign up by Monday, November 16. Each recital is limited to 12 performers, and we recommend signing up early if you have a tight schedule.

This document shows you which recitals your teacher will be attending. You can sign up for a recital where your teacher is not present, but we hope you'll be able to choose a time where your teacher can be there! If your teacher is not listed, you will need to get their availability directly from them.

To sign up:
Call the office, e-mail chelsea@rhapsodyarts.org
or sign up online. Sign up for a recital by clicking on the registration tab, then select Recital under Cat2.

Our 15th Annual Sonatina Festival will be held Saturday, November 7th at Rhapsody. This competition is open to residents of Wisconsin, Illinois, and Iowa. It is sponsored by Billings Piano Gallery. Students who receive the highest honors will be selected to perform in a winners' recital at the conclusion of the festival.
Good luck to all participants!
Group Lesson Week #2
We had a great first Group Lesson Week! Students in core classes learned a lot of interesting facts on contemporary pop music. We will continue our journey backwards in musical history at the next class in December. Did you miss out on our specialty classes, or would you like to try out a different class? Go here to view class options. You do not need to re-register your child for a core class; they will automatically be signed for for the same class for the school year. Remember: all students are required to sign up for a core class, and sign up for as many specialty classes as you like!

Inclement Weather Policy
It's already that time of year to start thinking about how inclement weather may affect Rhapsody's lessons and classes. School cancellations
do not imply lesson cancellations. If lessons are cancelled due to weather, notification will be on our outgoing phone message by noon, we'll post an announcement on Facebook, and our closure will be listed on our website under the Student Events block. Lessons or classes missed due to weather-related closure by Rhapsody will be made up.
