Greetings!
Rhapsody is announcing our Spring Art Contests!
Choose from the following:
- Coloring Contest for ages 3-6
- Character Contest for ages 7-12
- Poster Contest for ages 13 and up
Entries are due Monday, April 15. Complete rules are listed below.

Coloring Contest: Ages 3-6
- Contest is open to the public. May submit more than one entry per person.
- Students can be as creative as they want and can add any extra material (i.e. glitter, glue, stickers, etc.) that they would like. Crayons, markers, and colored pencils are acceptable.
- On the back, include the following:
Child's Name, Age, phone, Parent's E-mail Address, Title of Artwork (optional) - First, Second, and Third Place Winners will be selected. An Honorable Mention winner will be awarded based on the decision of the judges. Decision of the judges is final.
- Students may choose between the duck, the snail, and the turtle pictures. The links above contain pdf documents to print from your computer.
- All entries are due by April 15, 2013, to Rhapsody Arts Center, 1031 North Edge Trail in Verona. Winners will be selected on April 16.
- Winners of each contest will be displayed at Rhapsody until May 31 and can be picked up the following week. All other coloring sheets can be picked up between May 6-13. Unclaimed entries will be discarded after May 13.

Character Contest: Ages 7-12
- Contest is open to the public. May submit more than one entry per person.
- In honor of Music in Our Schools Month: Orchestrating Success, students will draw an instrument of their choice and turn it into a character. They should make a name for this character (i.e. Tubby the Tuba) and write the name on front of the page. Check out this website to see orchestra instruments up close.
- Students can be as creative as they want and can add any extra material (i.e. glitter, glue, stickers, etc.) that they would like. Crayons, markers, and colored pencils are acceptable.
- Students will create their character on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of plain white paper.
- On the back, include the following:
Child's Name, Age, phone, Parent's E-mail Address, Title of Artwork - First, Second, and Third Place Winners will be selected. An Honorable Mention winner will be awarded based on the decision of the judges. Decision of the judges is final.

Poster Contest: 13 and up
- Contest is open to the public to entrants age 13 and older. Students submit original artwork depicting their artistic interpretation of what music looks like.
- Original designs only. Color and black and white designs will both be accepted.
- Any two-dimensional medium is accepted up to 36"x36".
- On the back, include the following: Child's Name, Age, Phone, Parent's E-mail Address, Title of Artwork (optional)
- First, Second, and Third Place Winners will be selected. Honorable Mention winners will be awarded based on the decision of the judges. Decision of the judges is final.

Winners of each category will receive a gift certificate to use for a future art class or private art lessons!
