HB 2294 has been passed out of the Senate Business and Commerce Committee, and will give AT&T and other companies without an HVAC license the ability to install, maintain and repair thermostats and temperature control interfaces. The Senate Floor vote could come any day!!
Call your SENATOR TODAY and tell them you are a licensed HVAC contractor in their district and you oppose the Committee Substitute for HB 2294, and ask them to amend the bill to the version sent to them by ACCA Texas lobbyist Shannon Noble on Thursday. That version would require a Security/Alarm Company licensed under Occupations Code 1702 to have at least one Environmental Class B License holder statewide in order to install, maintain and repair thermostats.
