HB 2294 has been filed and is up for a hearing on Tuesday, April 9th at 11:00 am in the Licensing and Administrative Procedures Committee. This bill would allow for anyone to install, maintain or repair a thermostat or temperature control interface, including companies that offer home automation or other home services. Please contact the committee members below and let them know you are a Texas HVAC Contractor and that you are opposed to HB 2294 and allowing UNLICENSED companies to install, maintain and repair thermostats and temperature control interface equipment.
