A busy week of events in Tech Valley!
We have three workshops this week, including, "Getting Started with Constant Contact Email Marketing," (a live demo workshop), on Tuesday night in Schenectady, and again on Wednesday morning in Colonie.
On Wednesday night, Professional investor and entrepreneur Bryan Luce will share his knowledge on venture financing for entrepreneurs. This is a great workshop for people in start-up mode, those dreaming of a start-up, or those already in business.

Last week we conducted a Facebook Marketing workshop for businesses. One topic covered was usage of custom URL (addresses) of Pages.
In this article, we deliver a comprehensive report of how and why you should create a custom URL for your Facebook Business Page, including a step-by-step guide, SEO benefit analysis, branding strategy, and associated Facebook Marketing best practices.

Networking Event:
We will be participating in a fun networking event tomorrow at the Comedy Works in Albany, NY.
This event will be on the first Tuesday of every month and is an open networking group where you can make connections with other business professionals and sign up for one-on-one sessions with social networking experts to get your questions answered.
We will be there to answer Constant Contact/Email Marketing and Internet Marketing questions.
Cost: $20 (includes food and comedy show from 6:30 to 8:30 PM)

Old Media Printing Giant QuadGraphics Invests in New Media Startup Pixability
Quad/Graphics, which has a facility employing over 700 employees in Saratoga Springs, NY, invested the majority of a $4.1M round that closed last month for Pixability, according to an article in All Things Digital. Pixability is a Cambridge, MA-based startup that helps brands manage their presence on the online video giant, YouTube. Many might balk at the idea of an ink-and-paper printing company investing in one of the new media startups sure to put them out of business, but QuadGraphics CEO Joel Quadracci has a different outlook on what he describes as a strategic partnership to augment their traditional printing services.
