Paradigm Announces Prestige
At CEDIA 2014 - Paradigm was proudly displaying its exciting new Prestige line which is completely made in Canada. The Prestige products combine the latest in industrial design with new advancements in acoustical engineering. With seven new models, each of the loudspeakers feature the new Paradigm Perforated Phase-Aligning - PPA - Tweeter Lens, designed to protect and enhance the Satin-Anodized Pure Aluminum (S-PAL) tweeter domes and block out unwanted frequencies that cause phasing, or sound cancellation. The tweeters are hand-built by Paradigm in Canada, and are designed to extend high frequencies providing detail and surprisingly high volume.
The Prestige series includes: - 95F - Large Floorstanding Speaker in Midnight Cherry at $2,799 ea & in 3 other finishes including Matte Black, Black Walnut, and Piano Gloss Black at $2,499 ea.
- 85F - Medium Floorstanding Speaker in Midnight Cherry at $2,199 ea & in 3 other finishes including Matte Black, Black Walnut, and Piano Gloss Black at $1,999 ea.
- 75F - Small Floorstanding Speaker in Midnight Cherry at $1,699 ea & in 3 other finishes including Matte Black, Black Walnut, and Piano Gloss Black at $1,499 ea.
- 55C - Large Center Channel Speaker in Midnight Cherry at $1,899 & in 3 other finishes including Matte Black, Black Walnut, and Piano Gloss Black at $1,699.
- 45C - Medium Center Channel Speaker in Midnight Cherry at $1,499 & in 3 other finishes including Matte Black, Black Walnut, and Piano Gloss Black at $1,299.
- 25S - Surround Speaker Speaker in $899 ea in Matte Black.

McIntosh Launches 3 New Products
MC152 - MC301 - MHP1000
Everyone who visited McIntosh Lab was taking some time to listen to the remarkable MHP1000 headphones powered up by the impedance matching MHA100 headphone amplifier. The wait was worth the listen - they were comfortable, extended range, and delightful to enjoy! The MHP1000 headphones have the same superior sound characteristics as McIntosh speakers and will envelop you in music. The smooth, full bodied, non-fatiguing response is easy to listen to and allows the listener to hear new facets of favorite songs. Outside noise and distractions are isolated by the closed headphone design, fostering a fully immersive personal listening experience. The ear pads and headband are a premium, natural, soft leather for luxurious comfort. Read more here.
The MC301 monoblock amplifier delivers 300 watts of power into a single channel at 2, 4 or 8 ohms. Its monoblock design is the ultimate in system configuration as each speaker has its own dedicated amp, guaranteeing maximum channel separation and audio fidelity. It is physically smaller than other McIntosh amplifiers at only 6 inches tall. Complete with the McIntosh output Autoformer that ensures every speaker receives full power regardless of its impedance and Quad Balanced design, any noise is cancelled inside the Autoformer, yielding the highest power with the least amount of distortion. McIntosh's unique Power Guard circuitry prevents harsh sounding clipping that could damage your clients speaker.
Also new, the McIntosh MC152 stereo amplifier delivers 150 watts of power into two channels at 2, 4 or 8 ohms. It is the smallest solid state stereo amplifier in terms of power output. The MC152 is perfect for modest sized systems where higher power output levels are not needed or in home theaters to power surround channels.

The New Wireless Star Of CEDIA
Dealers were lined up at CEDIA to view HEOS and all of the amenities that they bring to integration and operation. Dealers were startled by seeing things that they had asked for from their current wireless supplier right in front of them at the CEDIA show.

The HEOS feature of automating a receiver was very well received. Currently with the IR and Trigger ports on the ack tf the HEOS LINK automates the turn on, input selected and volume up and down on native HEOS app. The attendees were even more excited to hear that in a future upgrade to the software, the IR and Tirgger connections can be discarded for IP control which then delivers a slider for volume and status for on/off for both Denon and Marantz receivers from 2010 forward as long as the receivers are connected to the network.

Anthem M1
1000 Watt Monoblocks Wowed Attendees
To show off the new Prestige Series from Paradigm, the folks at Anthem chose to use the new MRX710 as a front end and a pair of M1 amplifiers as the power. Words like "effortless", "breathtaking", and "super dynamic" were heard after each presentation.
At less than $7000 a pair, these mono monsters drew a lot of attention. At 1000 watts into 8 ohms and 2000 into 4 ohms, there is likely not a loudspeaker these will not power to maximum performance. With an all digital design, these giants run quietly and cool.

Marantz HD-DAC1
Everyone wants one!
This ultra-high quality dedicated DAC/Headphone Amplifier creates simply amazing sound because it uses Current Feedback amplification technologies from Marantz' high-end Premium 11 Series.
The HD-DAC1 [$799] is so powerful, it can even drive audiophile high-impedance headphones of up to 600 ohm - with complete MODE ease. All thanks to its three-level gain control, Marantz HDAM modules, a high current audiophile DAC (CS4398), and its Premium Quality fixed and variable RCA outputs. It is so powerful, it not only drives headphones, you can also directly connect it to your client's Hi-Fi integrated amplifier or to a pair of active speakers or power amps. It's also highly connectable. Optical and coaxial digital inputs as well as a USB-B port enable your client to stream music directly from their PC or MAC. iDevices can also be connected via the USB port on the front. For even more connectivity we have also included an analogue input. The USB-B works in asynchronous mode to support not only 192 kHz / 24bits high-resolution audio but also the DSD 2.8MHz and 5.6MHz for maximized performance and the most direct way to enjoy excellent quality. To safeguard quality when connected to a computer, we built extended isolation around the USB-B input to eliminate the chance of high frequency noise generated by the computer entering the HD-DAC1. Marantz even included a jitter remover and Dual Clock for extreme accuracy.
Info on volume, input, resolution, etc. is shown on the stylish Marantz Porthole Display. While the solid aluminum front is supported by a double layer bottom plate and retro-style wooden side panels. Pure Marantz craftsmanship.

Potent - Efficient - Clarity
MartinLogan Motion XT
MatinLogan was featuring their remarkable Motion XT products in a 7.2 theater playing live music videos. With a full complement of the Motion XT's supported at the bottom by a pair of Dynamo 1500X subwoofers, everyone was engaged and stunned by the audio quality. The Motion XT speakers are also very efficient and this combined with very low distortion and dynamics allowed substantial impact as listeners enjoyed them.

Also shown in a single static display was the huge Neolith [$80K a pair]. Available in your favorite automobile color, these will be shipping in the future but look out for a road tour later this year in your area.
