PROFIBUS, PROFINET and IO-Link in Factory Automation

Following the success of our November training day, we're delighted to announce there will be another in March. This free-to-attend event covers the use of PROFIBUS, PROFINET and IO-Link in key application areas such as electrical and electronics assembly, robotics, automotive engineering, mechanical handling and logistics, control systems and energy management. It focuses on the practical aspects of advanced digital communications from system design and safety considerations through to maintenance and fault-finding.

Process Training Seminar

This highly practical training event addresses the key issues arising from the use of digital fieldbus communications technologies in process and hybrid industries. Covering the use of PROFIBUS and PROFINET in key application areas such as Pulp & Paper, Chemical, Utilities, Pharmaceutical, Oil & Gas today, it focuses on the practical aspects of using PROFIBUS and PROFINET in process industry applications from system design and hazardous area considerations through to maintenance and fault-finding. 

Industry 4.0 Summit & Factory of the Future Expo 
Manchester, 4/5 April

PI UK will be supporting next year's Industry 4.0 Summ�it, the UK's first �dedicated conference &� exhibition for Indus�try 4.0. The conferen�ce will look at key i�ssues surrounding Ind�ustry 4.0, the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), smar�t factories & digital� manufacturing, and f�eature government pol�icy, strategies, busi�ness models, and a nu�mber of Industry 4.0 case stud�ies. PI will have a strong presence at this event, where we will be hosting a Round Table discussion featuring our key technologies for the IIoT, PROFINET and IO-Link.

Alongside will be the� Factories of the Fut�ure Expo, which will showcase the latest technologie�s and developments in� automation, IIoT, se�nsors, software, indu�strial networking and� big data.

Both organisations are authorised by PROFIBUS & PROFINET International (PI) to deliver PI's certified courses leading to internationally-recognised accreditation as Certified PROFIBUS or PROFINET Engineers or Installers.

Certified PROFINET Installer
An essential course for electrical engineers and technicians needing to upgrade their skills to include industrial ethernet installation. This one-day, hands-on course teaches the design, installation and testing of complete PROFINET networks and will teach delegates how to avoid common, but potentially expensive, installation problems.

Certified PROFINET Engineer
This training course provides a detailed technical knowledge of the PROFINET technology and the advantages it offers your automation and production processes. At the end of the training there will be a theory exam. Participants who pass get the title Certified PROFINET Engineer and are awarded an official certificate. Successful participants will have the confidence to evaluate PROFINET as a solution for their automation requirements and be able to design a proper application.

Certified PROFIBUS Installer
An essential course for electrical engineers and technicians needing to upgrade their skills to include fieldbus installation. This one-day, hands-on course teaches the design, installation and testing of complete PROFIBUS networks including DP, PA and optical fibre technology. Covering bus layout and termination, grounding rules and practices, the course will teach delegates how to avoid common, but potentially expensive, installation problems.

PROFIBUS Commissioning & Maintenance Course
A one-day course designed as an add-on to the Certified PROFIBUS Installer Course, covering the practical techniques of faultfinding on "operational" PROFIBUS networks. Techniques taught on the course include the use of a modern PROFIBUS analyser, Class 1 and Class 2 master functions (engineering tool) to diagnose network faults, device faults and I/O problems. Students also learn how to diagnose and accurately locate cable, connection and device faults.

Certified PROFIBUS System Designer
This course is aimed at anyone who is dealing with the design, specification or procurement of modern automation and control systems at the engineering or technical level.  The course is also suitable for device manufacturers, system integrators and technical sales/marketing people who want to know the best way to put systems together. The course is aimed at the professional engineer level and a basic familiarity with control system terminology and the ability to perform simple engineering calculations is assumed.

Certified PROFIBUS Engineer Course
This is an in-depth course covering PROFIBUS DP and PA network operation, design, commissioning and live fault-finding. The course covers basic cyclic data exchange (so-called DP-V0) and DP-V1 extensions that are used in PA devices and more complex DP devices. Most of the course is involved with understanding and interpreting the various telegrams that pass between devices. It is a world-wide recognised training program, standardised by PROFIBUS International.  The Certified PROFIBUS Installer and the Commissioning & Maintenance courses are essential pre-requisites to attending this course.

ON-SITE CERTIFIED TRAINING FOR 6 OR MORE PEOPLE
If you've got a group of 6 or more to train, then you might be interested in having a course delivered at your own premises. The UK is well served with fully-accredited training facilities, with two organisations able to deliver these courses on-site, The Ascent Centre at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) and Verwer Training and Consultancy (VTC).
