Last week PNO celebrated its jubilee at the PI Conference in Speyer/Germany with more than 270 people.

PROFINET logoThe latest MinutePROFINET video addresses the subject of PROFINET Application Profiles, of which there are are more than for PROFIdrive or PROFIsafe. There are PROFINET profiles defined for everything from trains to HART, from IO-Link to PROFIenergy.

PROFIBUS & PROFINET Conference Update
 
Welcome to our 20th Anniversary Conference
Taking place in Stratford-on-Avon on June 23/24, the event will cover the latest developments in PROFIBUS and PROFINET technology. 

The programme will contain a mixture of presentations, demonstrations and hands-on practical sessions that are suitable for a wide variety of experience; from first-time users to those with extensive experience with working systems.

First UK Certified PROFIBUS System Designers

 

First UK Certified PROFIBUS System Designers The first group of engineers to pass the UK's new Certified PROFIBUS System Design course have graduated. The graduates of the first course, delivered by Andy Verwer of Verwer Training & Consultancy, include engineers from Endress+Hauser, Trant Engineering, Control Specialists Ltd and CAT E&I.

 

Developed in response to demand from major UK users of PROFIBUS mainly in the Water Industry, this intensive course covers the detailed design of PROFIBUS systems including methods for dealing with hazardous environments, various speed and performance requirements and solutions for high reliability and availability. One of the core aims of this training is to cover the various methods of optimising control system design so that the impact of control system failures and maintenance on the production is minimised.

 

This new course is currently accredited in the UK by The PROFIBUS Group who hope that it will ultimately gain worldwide acceptance.

The next Certified PROFIBUS Installer course is on 7th May 2015, followed by Commissioning and Maintenance on the 8th. 

 

The next Certified PROFIBUS Engineer Course on 14th May is for Certified Installers wishing to upgrade their qualifications to Engineer level. 

 

These scheduled courses are presented at our PROFIBUS International Competence Centre at Manchester Metropolitan University.  MMU's certified training to Engineer level covers the Certified PROFIBUS Installer, the Commissioning & Maintenance module and finally the Certified PROFIBUS Engineer Course.
