Taking place in Stratford-on-Avon on June 23/24, the event will cover the latest developments in PROFIBUS and PROFINET technology including safety & security, energy management and of course, IIoT - the Industrial Internet of Things, aka Industry 4.0
Catching the Process Fieldbus
PROFIBUS author James Powell will be at the conference to launch the 2nd edition of his popular book "Catching the Process Fieldbus", about which he says "the big thing about the 2nd edition is the addition of PROFINET".
Carl Henning, Deputy Director of PI North America had this to to say about the new edition: "The second edition of this classic work adds valuable information about PROFINET's role in process automation, supplementing the widely-used PROFIBUS protocol. With some theory and a lot of practical experience presented, this book is THE place to start learning about PROFIBUS and PROFINET for process."
James will also be presenting a paper showing the relative ease of combining PROFIBUS and PROFINET into the same system or moving from PROFIBUS to PROFINET. We're hoping that James will have with him few copies of his book to sign and give away to conference delegates.
Industry Applications
Of the many other presentations there's one from Roger Marlow of the Water Industry's standards body, WIMES, who will be discussing the specification and use of PROFIBUS in the Water Industry, while Bernd Kremer of Softing will be presenting a case study on the use of PROFINET at the assembly line of AUDI in Germany.
Practical Workshops
The Workshops will take delegates through the complete process of setting up and maintaining PROFIBUS and PROFINET networks, from basics through to advanced diagnostics. The event, supported by a table top exhibition is suitable for a wide variety of experience; from first-time users to those with extensive experience with working systems.
