Achievement Week:
At ATA every student is a STAR and we want to acknowledge each student's accomplishments! During the dates of March 21-26, all students will get an opportunity to perform a special/favorite gymnastics or acrobatic skill in front of an audience during their regular class time. Students will then be given a special ATA award! Family and friends are welcome to come and watch! |
Big Top Circus: Intro 4-6 yrs
March is Circus Month for our Intro Tumblers (4-6 yrs)! During the weeks of March 4-17, students will use their imaginations to become circus acrobats, clowns, animals and contortionists! Students will learn the following song and sing during circle time. Sung to the tune of "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star"
Circus, Circus, here we come; We can't wait to have some fun
Animals and acrobats; Silly clowns in silly hats
Circus, Circus, here we come; We can't wait to have some fun!

Acrobatic Gymnastics Team
Meet season has begun!! Development Team athletes made a great showing at the 2016 SLO Classic!
Everyone performed qualifying routines and gained great experience! We were so proud! This past month we have been working extra hard nailing down many little details and working on improving skills! It is really paying off with stronger routines and more confidence. Congratulations athletes for all the hard work and "hit" routines!
ATA Coaches challenged all pair/groups this month with the "Love Bug Challenge". Athletes earned special stickers and were awarded points with a prize for the top scores! Special shout out to the following athletes who earned the most points and won! Advanced Team: Ansley, Jessica, Helen, Kaylee and Rylee! Development Team: Jordan Depue and Shelby Whitlock! Way to go athletes! You will feel those points out on the competition floor in results!! This weekend our Advanced Team took off to Nevada to compete their first routines of the season at the 2016 Las Vegas Fly! It was a fantastic meet with clubs participating from all over the region as well as Canada and Maryland! Some of the top athletes in the sport were there for a dry run as they gear up for World Championships next month! Team ATA couldn't wait to get out there and test their skills and artistry. We had terrific results! Everyone received a "Nationals" qualifying score! It was one of the strongest first meets EVER! Special recognition to Eddie Cantor for working so hard with all the athletes on their artistry this season! All the effort and attention paid off in strong artistry scores! It really showed out there! Vegas has many talented acrobats working on a professional level and many folks had opportunities to see shows and soak in Acro inspiration! ATA staff had the privilege to go see Le Reve. Former athlete, Brennan Atsatt, is a professional cast member! Not only was the show fantastic, but afterwards Brennan took us on a grand backstage tour! All the cast was amazing, but watching Brennan was truly the highlight of our trip! Seeing his success was so rewarding! A powerful reminder for why we do what we do!

February's Safety Tip
Living in San Jose, it's easy to get confused and think it's summer when it's actually the middle of winter! Even though we've been experiencing bright and sunny days, it's important to keep warm before beginning class. In the short walk through the parking lot to the doors of the gym, kids should be dressed appropriately so that they don't get cold, causing their muscles to tighten up. On chilly days, be sure to keep jackets, sweatshirts, pants, etc. on until class begins. Following this safety tip will help students have the best class experience!
