Acrobatics Month is Returning!

Acrobatics Month was a huge success in March and June of this year and we are excited to say that it's returning for September! During this month, students will learn and build upon the basic pair and group acrobatic skills they have previously learned.

Here at ATA we have such a passion for the sport of Acrobatic Gymnastics and feel that it greatly enhances a gymnast's strength, flexibility, balance and coordination. Acrobatic Gymnastics is a combination of dance, individual acrobatic and tumbling skills, as well as partner skills. Partners work in pairs or groups to perform skills of balance and of flight.

During this month, students will continue their skill training on the important individual skill goals they have been working on. Instructors will take a very small amount of time during each class to focus on this fun and challenging Acrobatic Gymnastics theme.

ABC's & 123's

During the weeks of September 9th through September 21st, ATA will be getting into the Back to School spirit! All Intro Tumblers (3-6 years) will practice the alphabet and counting as they perform their gymnastics skills! You would never guess that the ABC's and 123's could be so much fun! All theme activities will follow ATA's curriculum and help to develop student's strength, balance, agility, coordination and flexibility.

During circle time, students will sing the ABC song and participate in counting activities. We encourage you to practice letters and numbers at home so that your child can have the best possible learning experience!

Acrobatic Gymnastics Team

It would have seemed natural for August to be a quiet month for team activities.  Competition season is over, families on vacation, but it was just not the case.  Athletes coming back after National Championships in Louisville, KY were super motivated and inspired.  They used the month to train hard, keep in shape and continue to grow and develop new skills for the new season.  We also use the month of August for recruiting new members for Team ATA!  New athletes joined our open workout sessions and got opportunities to learn basic acrobatics or work in a different event or partner with someone new.  Official ATA team Try Outs took place towards the end of the month and we had a chance to fill many open positions for the new year!  Coaches and management are super excited to welcome our new team members and get started with the official training schedule this week!  Athletes from our Advanced Team continued training in the month of August.  We are excited and proud that our Men's Pair, Bryan Allen and Brennan Atsatt, as well as our Women's Group, Shannon and Kaitlyn Kennedy and Kendall Tarvin will travel to England in November to represent the USA at the Pat Wade Classic!  It's wonderful to see how all their hard work and training is paying off with these amazing international opportunities!  Also, Team ATA celebrated together during the month with "Acro on Beach"!  This is an annual picnic where we hit the beach together performing handstands, building pyramids, hand balancing and of course, finishing up with a bonfire and S'mores!!  This year, we even got to teach some basic acrobatics to a young cheer team!  EVERYONE LOVES ACRO!

With our competition team now getting underway, we will turn our attention forward to October when ATA's Pre Team will get going in their first session of the new season!  Information will be coming out this week on this fabulous program that is a great introduction to basic Acrobatics!  If your kids love, love, love gymnastics, they will love learning additional, creative ways to expand that knowledge.  Fun, simple partner skills combined with tumbling and dance make for a wonderful, performance based gymnastics experience.  Novice and up athletes are welcome to join this program!  Check with the front desk on the details and to sign up!

Have a Great Day!
