December 2015                            Helping Neighbors in Need in Sandy Springs and Dunwoody Since 1987.
 Holiday Greetings from CAC!
Dear Friends of CAC,
Thank you for helping many local families in need celebrate the holidays in the warmth of their homes this year. Your financial contributions help families experiencing financial crisis pay rent and utility bills. Your donations of food, clothing, back packs and school supplies, and holiday gifts help families throughout the year. Thanks to your support, CAC helped 700 local families this year remain in their Homes for the Holidays and assisted 5,000 individuals overall. Your generosity inspires us! We wish you a wonderful holiday season with family and friends.

In Service,

Tamara Carrera
Executive Director
Community Provides Gifts for Children
Thank you for being a community that Cares and Shares! Thank you for  making sure that local children in need will have gifts under the Christmas tree this year! About 300 donors, including businesses, congregations, families and individuals have adopted 1,250 children for holiday gifts through the CAC Adopt-a-Family program! Special thanks to Rivercliff Lutheran Church, North Atlanta Church of Christ, Sandy Springs Rotary and all donors and volunteers for making CAC Adopt-a-Family program a success this year!
 Holiday Food Boxes Help Families

More than 500 holiday food boxes were distributed to local families in November and December! The Shumard Foundation donated the food and gathered friends and family to pack the boxes. Volunteers helped distribute the boxes to families along with grocery store gifts cards. The food and gift cards were provided to families who have experienced financial difficulties this year. Thanks to North Springs United Methodist for their assistance with the holiday food distribution!
Seeking Donations for Fire Victims

CAC is helping a local family that escaped an apartment fire last weekend. They are in need of a bed and a kitchen table and chairs. If you can donate these items please contact Tamara at director@ourcac.org.
Give Hope to Families Next Year

When you give to CAC you give hope to local families who are in need and have nowhere else to turn for help. Donations help families weather a rough patch and stay in their homes. Your year-end charitable contribution will help families in the new year with basic needs of food, clothing and shelter as they work toward self-sufficiency once more. Plus, CAC leverages every dollar donated with volunteer manpower and bulk purchasing of food. CAC is a private 501c3 nonprofit (Tax ID # 58-1825565) and all donations are tax deductible! Please consider giving a gift today!
  • $10-50 can provide food for a family
  • $50-$100 can help pay a utility bill
  • $100-$300 can help pay rent
 St. John Hosts CAC Families

St. John United Methodist Church, one of CAC's member congregations, for the second year treated families from CAC's Adopt-a-Family program to a special evening. St. John UMC members adopted 50 children for holiday gifts, and those families were invited to the church for a dinner, live nativity scene, crafts for kids and a visit with Santa!  The church also provided a "holiday shop" where children selected small gifts for free for their parents and had them wrapped! Thank you St. John UMC!
