Assistance that Makes a Difference
Cathy is a young, single, Dunwoody resident who had been making it on her own until she suddenly found herself in a bind. Her apartment roommate moved out and then she lost her job. At 22 years old she was searching for new employment, had utility bills to pay and monthly rent was due soon. Cathy was referred to CAC where she hoped to get emergency financial assistance but ended up getting much more. During her appointment she found out about CAC's job listings book. She received assistance for utilities, food, referrals for rent assistance and applied for jobs in the book which resulted in several interviews and a job offer! Cathy was very thankful for the assistance that CAC provided and especially for the job listings book. She's doing so well in her new office job that her position is being expanded. CAC volunteers and donors can know that their efforts make a big difference in the lives of our neighbors in need.

Volunteer Groups Provide Support!
|
XL Catlin employees recently returned to CAC to volunteer.
|
More than 300 regularly scheduled volunteers help to keep CAC operating on a daily basis, manning all areas of the center and delivering food. In addition, groups contribute more manpower and donations. Recently Sandy Springs Christian Church held a food drive, Cumberland Academy students worked in the food pantry, XL Catlin employees unloaded pallets of food and assembled 1,800 invitations, Kimberly Clark employees worked in the Thrift Boutique, Davis Academy students assembled and donated toiletry bags and Mt. Vernon Presbyterian students organized school supply donations. CAC is thankful for every individual and group that donates and volunteers at CAC to help their neighbors in need!
