Boys Scouts to Hold Parade Route Food Drive!
Enjoy the Dunwoody 4th of July parade and go prepared with donations for the local boy scouts' annual parade route food drive! Watch for Troop 764 from St. Luke's Presbyterian Church of Dunwoody pushing grocery carts along the parade route to collect non-perishable food for the CAC Food Pantry. Last year the boy scouts collected more than $500 worth of food from parade-goers. Most needed items for the CAC Food Pantry include: canned vegetables, tuna/canned meats, canned pastas, cereal, baked beans, peanut butter and jelly. The parade kicks off Saturday, July 4, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. at Mt. Vernon Road and Jett Ferry Rd.

Give Local Kids Lunches this Summer
You can help children of local families in need by giving them summer lunches through CAC. For many kids summer is a time for vacation fun. But for families on tight budgets summers are stressful with increased costs for childcare and food to feed children when they are home from school. In Sandy Springs, more than 50 percent of public school students qualify for the federal lunch program, and in Dunwoody almost 20 percent qualify, meaning those kids can eat at school twice a day for free. Through generous donors, CAC works to help these families by providing summer lunches for kids and back packs with school supplies for the start of school.
A CAC Summer Lunch Bag contains 5 kid-friendly lunches and costs about $35. Assemble a bag, donate items from the list or have you dollar buy more when you make a financial contribution to CAC! A CAC Summer Lunch Bag contains: 5 juice boxes 5 snack bars 5 fruit cups 4 oz. 1 box of mac & cheese 1 can pasta meals (i.e. SpaghettiOs) 1 tuna & crackers pack 1 instant yakisoba and 1 chili bowl. Assemble items in a 2.5 gallon Ziplock bag.
