Take the Food `n Fun Challenge!
Gather your team and take the Food `n Fun Challenge, a community-wide food drive where rival organizations, schools and businesses challenge each other to collect the most food for the CAC Food Pantry! The Food `n Fun Challenge is the largest community-wide food drive to ever take place in Sandy Springs and Dunwoody! Rivals challenge via social media and compete to collect the most food the last 2 weeks of April. The food drive is critical to aiding local families in the summer when the need is greatest and food pantry inventory is at its lowest level of the year. See Rotary Sandy Springs Challenge to Interacts on Facebook!

Helping Families that Struggle to Get By
puzzleMany people may not realize that in the generally higher income communities of Sandy Springs and Dunwoody there are families who struggle to survive each month.  For them, one missed pay check, loss of a job or health crisis could spell homelessness. That's where CAC donors step in.  Nancy's family of 3 was barely making ends meet when the father, already stricken with a life threatening chronic disease, was diagnosed with more health problems that led to losing his job. The mother with mobility issues was unable to find work. The family, with a daughter in high school, was facing homelessness before they found CAC. CAC helped them several times throughout the year weather the rough patch with rent assistance, food, clothing and holiday gifts. Since then the father has picked up some work hours and the daughter works part time after school. Living on a very low income, the family still faces challenges on a daily basis but they continue to find ways to improve their situation.
