December 2014                                             Helping Neighbors in Need in Sandy Springs and Dunwoody Since 1987.
 Making Children's Wishes Come True!
Donors adopted 1,185 local children for gifts this holiday  season through CAC! Gifts go to children of families who have received assistance from CAC in the past year. These are working families who are struggling to make ends meet and stay in their homes. One donor, the Rosen family, has for the second year adopted a family with children similar in age to their own. They family shops together for gifts for the children in need. Adopt-a-Family donors include individuals, families, businesses, civic organizations, clubs and congregations. Thank you everyone!
   Families Express Thanks to Donors
North Atlanta Church of Christ donors gave gifts to 150 children.
Many of the families that come to CAC seeking assistance are working yet  have difficulty meeting living expenses. One such family's story reads like this:
Both parents work low paying jobs. The mother cleans houses while the dad performs janitorial work. Their hours and pay vary making it hard to pay their bills. The father is looking for full time work.
The three children of this family were adopted for holiday gifts by The Sandy Springs Rotary. The mother left a message of thanks to their donor. "Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the presents for my children. You don't know the happiness they will provide."

Donors Give More than 500 Families Holiday Food
Volunteers from the US Army helped distribute holiday food.

CAC distributed to more than 500 local families boxes of holiday food and grocery store gift cards in November in December!  The Shumard Foundation once again donated
and assembled volunteers to pack 500 boxes of food! Additional holiday food boxes and grocery store gift cards were donated by Choate and other businesses, organizations, congregations and individuals.

One of the many companies that contributed toCAC's Holiday Programs  was the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) with world headquarters at the Ravinia. The IHG's Global Technology  division adopted 18 children and  wrapped gifts together as part of their employee holiday lunch event.  Many other companies large and small adopted families for gifts and gave food for the holidays.
