October 2014                                             Helping Neighbors in Need in Sandy Springs and Dunwoody Since 1987.
  Thank You for Your Support
TCI would like to thank each and every one of you for your support of CAC. So many of you give your time, treasure and talents and rise to the occasion when needed most.  Because of you, CAC is helping more than 2,000 families this year who have nowhere else to turn in their times of need. As of late many volunteers and donors have helped us reorganize within the building, fill the pantry with food, get the holiday program underway and plan our annual benefit, the Vintage Affair, coming up this Saturday. I hope you will join us at Holy Innocents' for the Vintage Affair as we raise funds to support assistance programs and celebrate the contributions that each of you make to support CAC and our neighbors in need.

In Service,

Tamara Carrera, CAC Executive Director

Temple Sinai and UPS Team Up to Fill CAC Food Pantry!
The Food Pantry was near empty before Temple Sinai's food drive.
Temple Sinai's annual High Holy Holidays Food Drive resulted in more than 8,600 pounds of food for the CAC Food Pantry! The Temple's drive is one of the largest drives done for CAC each year. UPS employees and their family members, along with volunteers from Ketchum and CAC's regular Saturday volunteer crew from Rivercliff Lutheran made the delivery of the massive food drive possible. They sorted and marked the food, and loaded and unloaded 2 deliveries with a UPS truck. Many thanks to Temple Sinai's Simie Faskowitz and Myron Smith, UPS's Kevin Horgan, Rivercliff's Evert Oerding and everyone who volunteered and donated! The food filled a near empty pantry and will provide for about 3 weeks. The pantry currently receives an all-time high of 1,400 visits per month, giving food to about 550 families a month.

Davis Academy Students Give & Learn

Davis Academy students come to CAC each year to learn about helping their neighbors in need. In September they assembled toiletry bags and donated them to CAC. The students then toured the Center and learned how CAC helps our neighbors each day with donations like the one they made.
