THIS INSPIRED THAT 2014
It's Back and Better Than Ever!

Missed coming to Open Door openings?

We've missed you too!
See you on April 5th!

This Inspired That will be a collaborative exhibit featuring studio artists from Open Door Art Studio, the staff artists of Open Door, and twelve invited local artists. For the exhibit, the staff artists and the twelve local artists each selected a work made by a studio artist from Open Door that inspired them. They used that spark of inspiration to create a companion piece of art. Both works will be displayed side-by-side in this unique and engaging exhibit. This is the third annual This Inspired That exhibition and the 2014 round is shaping up to be quite an event!

A MEMORIAL FOR MARY HEWITT
May 2, 1937 - March 7, 2014

Mary Ellen Hewitt had the
kind of laugh that came out of nowhere and transported the whole crowd to a brighter place. Her staccato chuckle won her many friends and her youthful exuberance and love of life sealed the deal. She liberally handed out greeting cards to friends and family, showered her cat Tommy with love, and shopped with reckless abandon. She had a dynamic personality that encompassed her love of animals, sweets, wrestlers and so much more. Mary's sense of humor and kind heart were absolutely among her greatest attributes. She will be greatly missed by those at Open Door Art Studio and beyond.

OPEN DOOR ART SHOWN IN CINCINNATI AND CHICAGO!
TWO OPENINGS ON ONE GREAT NIGHT

Open Door art was featured in two outside exhibitions on Friday, March 28. One in Cincinnati and one in Chicago!

Art Beyond Boundaries

1410 Main St.

Cincinnati, OH 45202

Three artists were featured in the exhibition Subdued Chaos. Marty Freireich, Beth Tracewell and Larry Ross exhibited their colorful creations in a show that toed the line between control and chaos. The opening reception coincided with Cincinnati's Final Friday, an event similar to our Gallery Hop. Open Door's Tim Cook was on the scene at the opening. What a great turn out! The exhibition runs through May 9, 2014.

The Arts of Life
1963 Johns Drive
Glenview, IL 60025

Five artists submitted a piece for the 3rd Annual Square Foot Show. This exhibit featured a myriad of creations that fit neatly inside a square foot. We are Instagram friends with The Arts of Life and found out that John Emanule's Sidney and Sunflowers found a new home! Congrats, John! Also congratulations are due to Linda Hoffman, Tony Hoover, Bernadette Martin and Charles Poe for exhibiting in the great city of Chicago!

A sincere thank you to both Art Beyond Boundaries and The Arts of Life for their partnership with Open Door and their support of our artists!
Thank you so much for your continued support of the studio and the amazing people who create here.

Sincerely,

Open Door Art Studio Team
