Liz Burkart
Art has always been a thread throughout Liz Burkart's life. She claims that "It's a part of me." Her current body of work is inspired by landscape images. The alizarin blue of a carribean
sea or the buttercup yellow of a field of wildflowers play leading roles in her painted creations. Her layered colors create abstracted imagery that references a landscape, but creates another world entirely. Liz has been painting for thirty five years and once attended Ohio State University in the art department. Born in Texas, Liz now calls Columbus, Ohio home.

Open Door rolls out the welcome mat for Home, an exhibition featuring work created by the studio artists, volunteers and staff of Open Door. Join us as we explore the question 'What does home mean?' This exhibit coincides with our annual open house, when we open the doors to our creative casa and invite the public to learn more about the role of Open Door in the larger community.
