FEATURED ARTIST | | Julie Lyle
According to Julie Lyle, "Art calms me down." Her sketchbook is filled with various collections of sketches, each representing an idea or approach she is working through. Much like Picasso, one of her artistic idols, she seems to have various stylistic periods.
 | Julie's painting Heaven |
Julie creates art both at the studio and at home. She loves painting and when asked to describe her perfect day she gives an elaborate description of a date which involves going outside to paint landscapes. An artist through and through, Julie says of art that "it comes out in your heart." With an explanation like that it is easy to understand why Julie has always sought out art experiences.

WALLACE PECK AT GOVERNOR'S MANSION
| | First Lady of Ohio Features an Open Door Artist
 | State Bird |
On September 25th, Open Door
artist, Wallace Peck, became the first featured artist in a program established by First Lady of Ohio, Karen Kasich, called Spotlight: Featured Artists at the Ohio Governor's Residence. The program was set up in partnership with the Ohio Arts Council and a new artist will be selected each quarter. The idea to use The Governor's Residence to spotlight artists arose, Karen Kasich said, after she was introduced to Wallace's work at a solo exhibition at Lindsay Gallery this summer.
We're so proud of Wallace!
