FEATURED ARTIST
Brian Burns

Brian Burns has quickly made a name for himself at Open Door. His quiet disposition is just one aspect of this complex and caring individual. His blue eyes sparkle with artistic achievement when he finishes an intricate drawing. He tends to draw and paint what he is passionate about. He loves all things mechanical, especially fast cars and motorcycles. When he approaches drawing a new subject, he breaks down the image into geometric shapes much like the Cubist
painter Pablo Picasso. Writing is important to Brian and he incorporates this in his art. He feels the need to "express his feelings and emotions" through his artwork. Although Brian is relatively new to art, he is a natural and is not short on concentration. These qualities will surely take Brian far, even if he is not in one of his beloved "fast cars."

OPEN DOOR WELCOME TWO NEW STAFF MEMBERS

Introducing Tim and Sean...

Open Door Art Studio expanded our staff over the past few months. We are honored and thrilled to have these two gentlemen as part of our team!

Tim Cook

Studio Artist Direct Support Professional
Tim's portrait was drawn by Jenny DeBrier

Tim Cook is a 2010 graduate of Columbus College of Art and Design where he received his BFA in Fine Arts with a minor in Photography. Originally from Canton, Ohio, he has lived in Columbus for seven years and is very active throughout the local art community. His current works utilize photography and watercolor.

From a very early age, Tim has been interested in art and is ecstatic to be able to share his skills with the studio artists at Open Door. Tim has always looked up to his late high school art teacher, Mr. Lit and is excited to inspire the way he once was.

Sean Moore
Art Facilitator and Gallery Facilitator
Sean's portrait was drawn by Brandon Boggs.

Sean Moore is a Columbus native who has had a passion for the arts since adolescence. He graduated with honors from The Ohio State University in 2011, obtaining a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in photography.

His mediums range from the two-dimensional to the three-dimensional, working with photography, mixed media collage, and sculpture. Regardless of the medium, his work utilizes the visual language of the fashion industry to explore concepts relating to idealism, body dysmorphia, and gender socialization.

Sean has been facilitating art programs for individuals with developmental disabilities for the past ten years and is overjoyed to be part of the Open Door community!
