Jessica Wallace's kind heart and quiet humor surfaces in everything she creates. Her whimsical paintings and drawings are often representational and always playful. Natural elements like trees and flowers are common subject matter for Jessica. Her bright daisy is blooming in the banner at the top! Another of her passions is photography and Jessica is very comfortable behind a camera. She has photographed several weddings and hopes to do more event photography in the future. Her dream is to one day own her own photography studio. It is easy to understand why creating would be part of her dreams when you see how joyful it makes her. Jessica is very close with her family, especially her siblings. She also loves her cat and he is her most willing photography model. Jessica is very humble about her talents and is a wonderful member of the Open Door community.

As mentioned previously, Jessica Wallace was awarded first place in the emerging artists category for the Accessible Expressions Ohio exhibition hosted by VSA Ohio. She was not the only Open Door artist who received accolades during the awards ceremony on March 2nd...

This Inspired That will be a collaborative exhibit featuring artists from Open Door Art Studio and Creative Arts of Women (CAW). For this exhibit each CAW artist selected a piece of art made by an artist from Open Door that inspired them and used that spark to create a companion piece. Both works will be displayed side-by-side in this engaging and exciting exhibit.

about VISION UNVEILED:
Progressive art studios provide an environment for artists with disabilities to create expressive art and cultivate unique styles. These visionary artists are important voices in the cultural community of any region. Central Ohio is home to both Goodwill Art Studio and Open Door Art Studio. They each provide supplies, space and support for numerous artists who work in a variety of mediums. This survey of artwork on display in Vision Unveiled introduces Open Door's most established artists and a cross-section of Goodwill Art Studio's many participating artists.
