New Law Requires All Coaches be CPR Certified Effective August 1, 2015
|
The Massachusetts Legislature has recently adopted Chapter 361 of the Acts of 2014, which requires all coaches to be certified in cardiopulmonary resuscitation by the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or other agency approved by the State Department of Public Health. Because this new law does not make school districts responsible for costs associated with the certification, we expect that the Massachusetts Teachers Association will request impact bargaining and ask that this cost be assumed by the district. This Act takes effect August 1, 2015.
