New OSHA Requirements for Notice of Employee Hospitalization
|
Effective January 1, 2015, OSHA is changing the notification requirements relative to the hospitalization of employees as a result of an incident at the work site. Under the present rule, an employer only has to give notice to OSHA if three or more employees are hospitalized, and notice must be given within eight hours of the hospitalization. Under the new rule, employers will have to give notice to OSHA of any hospitalization of any employee within 24 hours of an incident.
