ATTENTION MICROSOFT WINDOWS XP USERS
YOUR PCI COMPLIANCE WILL END APRIL 8, 2014
Microsoft announced that they will no longer support the Windows XP Operating Systems effective April 8. 2014.
Maintaining PCI Compliance requires using a supported Operating System on your Payment Application Server and any POS/PC Clients. XP is one of the most widely used PC operating systems. If you're currently using XP, then you need to take action. Note that any element of your payment system (including the operating system) that uses XP will no longer receive security updates from Microsoft. Essentially, by twilighting XP, and without security updates, your POS payment system will be non-compliant with applicable PCI and DSS security requirements.
If your credit card acceptance is integrated through your point of sale system, you may be subject to significant fines and penalties. For this reason, if you request a Change Of Service and you are using XP after April 8, 2014, an upgrade will be necessary to perform that change.
