This webcast will provide insight into PRIDIT, a statistical method with a variety of actuarial applications. Topics will include an overview of what the method is, its history and applications. The presenters will then describe the specific application of PRIDIT to hospital quality, including results of a new SOA research study, Validating the PRIDIT Method for Determining Hospital Quality with Outcomes Data, which looked into variation in hospital quality nationwide.

Attendees will learn to assess their company's readiness to meet the necessary controls under a model-based approach for reserve and capital valuation (MBV) environment and gain an understanding of the key next steps to move from the current state to the desired state under MBV.

This is an extremely timely topic as it is one that has the attention of government regulators, employers and employees. In response to Sen. Tom Harkin's report, The Retirement Crisis and a Plan to Solve It, and a recent GAO report on the Cost of the Financial Crisis--Your Retirement, we decided to bring experts together to present papers advocating solutions to solve America's retirement crisis. The papers will be published in a special symposium edition of The John Marshall Law Review.
