Staff Plant Partners!
Our Staff Plant Partners are recommended plant combinations for you to add to your project palette.
Chirs Darbo, Inside Sales Representative
Before joining the Midwest team, Chris worked for eight years at The Natural Garden Inc. in St. Charles, IL, as Wholesale Manager. At Midwest, Chris specializes in perennials. For her Plant Partners, Chris pairs a classic combination for any shady garden! The giant heavily corrugated leaves of Hosta 'Empress Wu' provide a unique textural element to this combination. In June, the 8-12 inch high creamy white flowers of Aruncus aethusifolius are a show stopper. The wide blue-green margins surround the creamy white center of Hosta 'Little Treasure' and the golden yellow of leaves of Lysimachia 'Aurea' add a splash of color to this shade-friendly combination.

Aruncus aethusifolius
Low mound of ferny foliage and short creamy-white spikes. Provides great fall foliage color!
Hosta 'Empress Wu'
Dark green deeply veined leaves of good substance can measure 1.5 wide and long. Strongly upright with magnificent flower buds. Might be the biggest Hosta in the world!
Hosta 'Little Treasure'
Small thick pointed blue leaves with creamy white centers. Each deep lavender flower on the white scapes is cradled by a miniature blue and cream leaf.
Lysimachia nummularia 'Aurea'
Rounded golden-green leaves on low spreading plants that quickly form a dense mat.
