Young Friends Happy Hour
Calling all interested parties!

The Young Friends are expanding their committee and could use a few good people!  If you have attended one of our events and thought it would be fun to be a part of this dynamic group, then we want to talk with you.

We are looking for people who are interested in planning events, helping us fundraise for major projects, promoting the national park and the City of Philadelphia and of course, having fun!

Our first committee meeting for 2015 will be on January 27th. If you are interested, please contact Maiti Gallen,  our Program Director at attn@friendsofindependence.org.

Support the Young Friends in their efforts to support the park!

Tomorrow night,  Friday, December 12th, the Young Friends committee members will be out on Independence Mall, spreading cheer and collecting donations to help our Annual Appeal!

Stop by either of their two locations (Chestnut Street or Market Street, between 5th and 6th Streets) and support them by giving whatever change you have in your pocket.  They will be out from 5:30 to 7:00 pm and in costume(!) in case you want a photo opportunity.

Support the Friends of Independence
It is that time of the year again... Annual Appeal requests.

With the year ending soon, it is the perfect time to look back over your giving and make that one last final donation that will make a difference to a non profit and will be 100% tax deductible.

We are asking you to remember your Friends at Independence National Historical Park and make a difference in your national park.  Your donations will not only help us but will go towards future projects such as:
  • Provide school buses and free workshops to schools to insure that more children come to the park to better understand their country's history and founding ideals.
  • Expand our outreach and offer great events like our Freedom 5K that brings people into our park in an exciting new way.
  • Provide one-of-a kind experiences to all visitors, from those who travel internationally,  to those who travel a few blocks to come to the park.

With your support, we can enhance the experience of all visitors

to our national park!
